Melva Penwell, age 92, peacefully added her voice to the heavenly choir on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Hooper Care Center.She was born on October 1, 1926, in Fremont NE and lived there all of her life except for a few years in Portland, OR.

Melva graduated from Fremont Senior High in May 1944.She worked as a dental assistant for Drs Walla and Walla for almost 30 years.She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Dodge County Historical Society and Life Member of PTA.She enjoyed flowers, music and her dishes made up of china place settings, coffee and tea sets.Her love of beautiful dishes was displayed throughout her home for as long as anyone can remember.

She is survived by her sons, Jim (Sandy) Penwell of Grand Island, NE, and Jeff (Joan) Penwell of Charlotte, NC, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mcknight, Hooper Care Center and Gentiva Hospice for the kindness and compassion they shared with Melva on her journey.

Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church (1546 N Luther Rd, Fremont, NE 68025), Low Income Ministry (549 N H St), or May Museum (1643 N Nye Ave).

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church.The family will greet people one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM.Pastor Dan Heuer will be officiating.
