Melvin G. Groene, age 72, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010, in Fremont, Nebraska.

Melvin was born in Houghton, Iowa, August 23, 1938, to Elmer and Bernice Groene.After 8th grade Melvin went to work for a body shop in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.After the family moved to Nebraska, he worked for Russell Stover for several years.He worked for Lesoing Body Shop in Lincoln for over 10 yrs before moving to Fremont.He married Evelyn Williams on August 4, 1989 in Fremont.Melvin worked as a mechanic for Community Refuse Disposal and Midwest Valley.He retired from Midwest Valley in 2001.

Melvin loved to garden and especially tend to his tomatoes.He also enjoyed taking his dog, Sam, for walks.

He was a member of the Eagles Club
