Mildred Delilah Callaway entered into rest Saturday March 14, 2009 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Mildred just celebrated her 96th birthday on February 20th. She was born February 20, 1913 to Rosetta and J.W. Johnson in Nickerson, Nebraska. Mildred married Fred Callaway May 31, 1930 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He entered into rest May 28, 1983. Her family was very important to her and she went out of her way to please them. This was not just her three sons Dennison, Cloyd, and Douglas, but also her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She, like her mom, knew her Lord and loved the life he would want her to live. She was an active member of the Community of Christ Church in Fremont, until her health put her into A.J. Merrick Manor. She enjoyed the Women's Department meetings and outings and workshops. She was always there to help at their bazaars and annual chicken and noodle dinners. Mildred will be missed by her family as well as her church family. Preceded in death by her Husband Fred, son Douglas, parents, a great-grandson, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Survived by: Sons Dennison (Marge) Callaway and Cloyd (Shirley) Callaway, all of Fremont. 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at Ridge Cemetery.
