Mildred I. Sic, 90 Fremont Died at her home Sunday morning. She was born October 10, 1916 in Fremont to Peter and Clara Peterson and was raised here graduating from Fremont High School in 1933. She graduated from Midland College in 1937 and later received her Masters of Arts from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She served as Principal and as an English teacher at Farwell, Nebraska and then lived in Gretna and Wahoo before returning to Fremont in 1945. Mildred married Don Sic May 24, 1930 in Fremont. She owned Tiny Togs, a company that designed and manufactured baby dresses and then taught English at Midland Lutheran College. In 1957 she became Dean of Women and served in that capacity and later served as Associate Dean of Students until her retirement in 1984. After her retirement she did public speaking on Nebraska Pioneers and their origins. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church where she was Sunday School Superintendent and a member of the Guild Circle. Mil was also a member of the Association of College Deans. Survived by: Husband Don 1 daughter; Marilyn Rademacher (husband Don) of Lincoln 1 son; Charles Sic (wife Muriel) of Philometh, Oregon 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren She was preceded by a son, Gerald. Funeral Services will be Thursday February 15 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Leland Foreman officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00. There have been memorials established to the First Baptist Church and Midland Lutheran College.
