Nancy Lea Wit, age 79, of Fremont, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, at her residence.

Nancy was born January 10, 1938, in Fremont, Nebraska, to Garland and Marguerite (Lockner) Phillippe.She spent her childhood in West Point, Nebraska, and graduated from West Point High School in 1956.She married Jim Stewart in 1956.To this union three sons were born.They later divorced in 1973.

Nancy married Wayne Wit on October 6, 1975, in Oakland at her father's Phillippe Supper Club.With this union Nancy gained a stepdaughter.
Nancy worked at the Phillippe Supper Club while living in Wisner, Nebraska, before moving to Fremont, in 1971.She also worked at Anderson's Jewelry, the Fremont Tribune, Emphasis Fiberglass and did home decorating parties for Hoda Company.She enjoyed going to car races, riding motorcycles, dancing, and card clubs.She was a witty, fun loving friend to many and often told jokes and stories making everyone laugh (she loved being the center of attention).To many friends, she was known by the nickname 'Poopsi'.She loved her holidays with family and friends, especially Christmas.She loved hosting the weekly Nebraska Football game days with fun and food for many years.
Nancy was honored to be Mistress of Ceremonies at West Point High School for the Centennial Reunion with more than 1500 people in attendance.She was also the speaker for class reunions throughout her life.
She was a member of TOPS Club for over 50 years.

Visitation:4:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Dugan Funeral Chapel.Family present from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
Funeral Services:11:00 AM on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Fremont Alliance Church.Pastor Tom Nevius is officiating.
