Oneta I. (Blondie) Nicholson, 82

Formerly of Fremont. Died at Lincoln on Saturday January 26.

Oneta was born October 26, 1925 in Tracy, Minnesota, to Flora and Oluf Mostad. She graduated from Walnut Grove, Minnesota High School in 1943 and then earned her Registered Nursing Degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. After graduation she worked at the Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa where she met Bob Nicholson. They were married on August 13, 1948 in Walnut Grove. He died September 7, 1998 in Fremont. They moved to Fremont in 1951 and Blondie worked as an emergency room nurse at Dodge County Memorial Hospital. From 1964-1966 she worked for Doctors Jakeman, Chleborad and Millett. In 1966 she started with the Fremont Public Schools as a School Nurse and was at the Fremont Junior High School for 21 until her retirement in May of 1987. She moved to Lincoln in December of 2006.

1 son; Jim Nicholson (wife Cindy) of Willmar, Minnesota
6 grandaughters; Jaime Hegr (husband Eric) Hegr of Seward, Kaise Hopp of Lincoln, Kelly Davis (wife Joey) of Webb City, Missouri, Kayla Courtney of Kansas City, Missouri, Beth Nicholson of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Sara Nicholson of Mankato, Minnesota.
2 great grandaughters; Teagan and Jadyn Davis of Webb City.

Preceded by parents and husband

Memorial Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Ron Croom officiating. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established to the Fremont Public Schools Foundation.
