Prudence Dorothy Nissen, age 70 of Fremont, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

She was born February 20, 1941, in Oakland, Nebraska, to Norman and Dorothy Wickstrom.She resided in Oakland, West Point, and since 1980 she has lived in Fremont.She attended District #52 Grade School east of Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School in 1958.After graduation, she worked as a secretary for First Lutheran Church in Oakland. She later worked for Stigge Machine & Supply Co. in West Point.She married Myron Nissen on Nov. 27, 1960 at the First Lutheran Church in Oakland.She then took on the full-time role of being a wife, mother, and grandmother.She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's ballgames and holidays that brought family together, especially Easter.

Survivors include a son Tim (and wife Dennette) Nissen of Oakland; three daughters, Connie (Jim) Schartz of Omaha, Tammy (Chad) Sukstorf of Cedar Bluffs, and Christie (Alex) Gelsomino of Los Angeles; one sister, AnnaBelle (Dan) Olson, and one brother Emory (Verlee) all of Oakland; two brothers-in-law, Loy (Shirley) and Marlin (LaVonne), all of Oakland; four sisters-in-law, Leona (Harold) Hultquist and Ila (Duane) Laaker, all of Fremont; Inez Diers of West Point, and June (James) Wood of Lincoln; and eight grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Matthew, Mitchell, Maverick, Kalley, James, and Olivia.

She was preceded in death by her husband Myron, her parents Norman and Dorothy, two brothers-in-law, Danny and Arnie, and one nephew Randy.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 20, 2011, at First Lutheran Church in Fremont.Pastor Charlie Axness will be officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM Friday, August 19, 2011, at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Interment will be at the Westside Cemetery in rural Oakland.
