Raymond C. Meints, 92, of York, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Sunday, July 24th, 2011.
Ray was born March, 5, 1919 to Brune and Rosie Meints in Pickrell. He attended Pickrell Public Schools before joining the Army and serving overseas during World War II, he worked for Nebraska Public Power until his retirement. Ray married Dorothy Kunasek Meints in Hooper in 1972.
He is preceded in death by his wife; brothers, John Meints, Elmer Meints, Melvin Meints, Harvey Meints; and brother-in-law, Fred Evers.
He is survived by; sons, Tyler (Ellen) Kunasek of Illinois, Steve (Deb) Kunasek of Fremont, Vince (Tammy) Kunasek of Omaha, Roger Kunasek of York; brother, Ervin (Lois) Meints of Beatrice; sisters, Frieda Evers of Beatrice, Loraine (Ervin) Remmers of Orange, California; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Dugan Funeral Chapel from 4:00-8:00 with the family present from 6:00-8:00. Services will be held at 11:00, Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to service. Burial will be at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Hooper.
