Richard William Hanson, 66
Galveston, Texas

Formerly of Fremont, died in Galveston, Texas on Sunday, June 17. He was born in Fremont on January 12, 1946, and attended School J-42 and St. Patrick Grade School, and graduated from Archbishop Bergan High School in the class of 1964.

Rick graduated from Creighton University with a bachelor of arts degree In 1968 and a Juris Doctor degree in 1971. While at Creighton he participated in Army R. O.T.C. After graduation, he served as a First Lieutenant in the Transportation Corps of the United States Army during the Viet Nam conflict. He practiced law in Fremont and Omaha and moved from Fremont in 1978.

He is survived by his daughter Dayna Morain (William) of Arvada, Colorado; grandson John Paul Morain and granddaughter Mary-Elizabeth Morain both of Arvada; mother Audre Kerrigan of Fremont; sisters Jacqueline Dee of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Kristine Casey (William) of Alexandria, Virginia; nephew; Christopher Dee (Judith) of Milwaukee; and nieces Rebecca Thiele (David) of Hudson, Ohio; Sara Connell (William) of Chicago, Illinois; Ellen Casey (Chris Hart) of Chicago; and Laura Casey of Washington, D.C.; six grand nephews and a grand niece.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Emil Hanson, his step father, John Kerrigan, and a brother, Gregory.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 22, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Rev. Dave Belt officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. A memorial has been established to Archbishop Bergan High School. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
