Richard "Dick" P. Morse, age 95, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at his home at Nye Square on Friday, March 18, 2016.

Dick was born in Fremont on August 24, 1920, to Harry and Dorothy (Long) Morse.A veteran of World War II, he was in the CB's and was stationed in Okinawa.After serving, he lived in Washington State and apprenticed as a plasterer before returning to Fremont.He started his own plastering and later commercial pipe fitting business, which he ran with pride, fairness and hard work.Dick was always an active member in the community.He was a volunteer fireman while working, and a member of Kiwanis.He was an elder of the First Congregational Church in Fremont.
In his free time he enjoyed golf, playing pool, watching Nebraska football and spending time with his family and friends.For the last 10 years he resided in Nye Square where he was known for his sense of humor and kindness.He made everyone he met and spent time with feel that they mattered and were important.
He and his late wife, Opal, were married for 69 years and had three children; the late Cherie Frankel of Springfield, MO; Rob (Henrietta) Morse of Omaha and Gary (Michele) Morse of Plymouth, MA.His granddaughter, Kelly Morse lives in Springfield, MO.He is also survived by 2 great-granddaughters; Chloe and Maya.He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorials have been established to the First Congregational Church U.C.C. of Fremont.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the First Congregational Church in Fremont.Pastor David Paul will be officiating.
