Robert "Bob" C. Perry, age 87, of Fremont, passed away March 25, 2017, at Fremont Health.

Bob was born on April 22, 1930 in Stuart, Nebraska, the youngest of five children and the only son of Clayton and Pearl Perry. He lived in Stuart, Nebraska until the age of 12 when his family moved to Fremont.Bob was a 1947 graduate of Fremont High School and graduated from the Van Sant Business College in Omaha in 1948.Bob was an active and proud resident of Fremont for over 75 years.

Bob owned and operated Kollmeyer's Hardware in downtown Fremont for over 50 years before turning the business over to some of his children.He also started a sporting goods company with Lou Wewel which later became Lou's Sporting Goods.He was a strong advocate of downtown Fremont and heavily involved in several community activities including Rotary, Knights of Columbus and Fremont Chamber of Commerce.He served as President of the Fremont Jaycees and the Nebraska State Hardware Association and was a founding member of the Fremont Downtown Business Association. He married Katherine Kollmeyer on December 12, 1949 and had seven children from that marriage.Katherine died on October 9, 1964.Bob married Faith Hiatt on August 10, 1968 and along with her three children they formed a combined family of 10 children, 9 of whom initially lived in the same house.

Family, friends and good conversation were the foundation of Bob's life.He enjoyed hunting, golf, travel, horseback riding, gardening and playing pitch.He loved the American West and family trips in the RV to Wyoming and could often be found relaxing in his cowboy hat and boots.Bob was also a familiar face at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, where he ushered for six decades.His hunting group of six friends hunted for 50 consecutive years.He enjoyed retirement later in life.A good book, a cigar, a fire in the fireplace and visits from family and friends were all he really needed.Most of all, he enjoyed being with Faith, his wife of 49 years.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, A. Clayton Perry and Pearl Perry; sisters, Irene Brooks, Theo Sorensen, Mildred Terry and Dorothy Armstrong; and daughter, Rebecca Zander.

He is survived by his wife, Faith Perry; children, Robert (Christina) Perry, Jr. of Murphy, NC, Barbara (Jerry) Dahlhauser of Omaha, Elizabeth Tonkinson of Omaha, Beverly (Bill) Pook of Las Vegas, NV, Kelly Hiatt of Phoenix, Mark (Kathleen) Hiatt of Omaha, Brian Perry of Fremont, Bill Perry (Ingrid Berlin) of Omaha and Michael Hiatt of Scottsdale, AZ; 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Dugan Funeral Chapel from 5-8PM with rosary service at 7PM.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 10:30AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery.
