Robert A. Frye, age 89, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010, at Shalimar Gardens in Fremont.
Robert was born March 6, 1921 to Charles and Zella Frye in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. In December, 1925, Robert rode in a box car with his two uncles, 2 horses, 2 cows, and personal belongings and moved to a farm outside of Elk City. He attended school until 1934 when he went to work during the depression. Robert was married to Patricia Pearce on October 22, 1941 until her death on October 14, 1953. He married Lillian Loomis on March 27, 1954. He farmed until 1958. He then drove a truck for Case Transfer, and was a foreman for Ned Tyson Cattle Company for 8 years. He eventually retired in 1986 after 20 years at Blair Manufacturing Company. Robert was a member of the Herman town board for many years and served as mayor of Herman for four years. In 1988, he joined the Fremont Lions Club.

Visitation: 4-8:00 PM Thursday October 14, 2010, at Dugan Funeral Chapel

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Friday, October 15, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Fremont (5th and 'C' streets) with Reverend Leland Foreman officiating.

Burial will be at Memorial Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
