Robert C. Jensen, age 84, of Cedar Bluffs, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Fremont Health.

Robert was born March 10, 1932 to Axel and Pearl (Dryden) Jensen in Fremont. He was baptized at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Robert attended local country schools until being drafted into the Army. Following his basic training in California he headed to Fort Benning, Georgia, where he completed Paratrooper training and earned his 'jump wings'. Robert then went overseas where served as a Sergeant 1st Class in the Korean War. During his service to our country he earned a Bronze Star among many other metals before being honorably discharged in 1954. Following his return home, he married Alma June Trotter on May 21, 1955 in Herman, to this marriage were two sons Robert Jr. and Rodney.

Robert attended and graduated from Universal Trade School in Omaha in 1957. In September 1962 he began working for Labor Local Union #1140 of Omaha. He retired in May 1992 after 31 years of dedicated work. He enjoyed camping, fishing, cold beer and always enjoyed his time with his family. He loved helping local children repair their toys, work on their cars and fix their bikes.

Robert was a member of the Labor Social Union #1140, V.F.W. Post 854 and The American Legion.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Robert C. Jensen, Jr., brother Richard, sister Josephine Hinkle and Irene Cawley.

He is survived by his wife Alma of 61years, son Rodney (Deb) Jensen, brothers Gerald Jensen of North Bend, Francis (Donna) Jensen of Valley, Carl Jensen of Papillion, sisters Vivian Vranesh of Las Vegas, Nevada, Salley (Arthur) Lackas of Fremont , Karen (Dwight) Hinkle of Cedar Bluffs, grandson Jake Jensen, grand-daughters Lisa and Trisha, as well as many other relatives and friends.
