Robert J. (Bob) Ramuta, 82, of Fremont, formally of Ironwood, Michigan died Tuesday night at Fremont Area Medical Center. Born October 3, 1924 in Ironwood, Michigan. He was raised in Jesseville, Michigan, and graduated from Ironwood High School in 1942. After graduation he joined the Army Infantry, during WWII, and was involved in the "Battle of the Bulge" , he served until 1945. After the war he entered Houghton Tech and graduated with an Engineering degree in 1950. Robert married Margaret (Ellen) Trier on August 16, 1947 in Hurley, Wisconsin. He worked for the Oilgear Company in Milwaukee for 37 years, retireing in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion in Ironwood, Michigan. Also a member of the National Association of Manufacturing Engineers. Survived by Wife Margaret (Ellen) 5 daughters; Mary (husband Jon) Pitt of Fremont; Luann Paquette of Monroe, Wisconsin; Lynn Miller of Lincoln, Nebraska; Susan Ramuta and Laura (husband Brion) Demski of Waukesha, Wisconsin. 10 brother and sisters 8 grandchildren 5 great grandchildren Preceded in death by son; Robert Ramuta, Jr. Memorial Services will be Friday, June 15th at 2:00pm at Lattin-Dugan-Chambers Funeral Chapel.
