Robert Martin Suhr, of Hooper, age 72, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Longview Nursing Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Robert was born in Fremont, February 8, 1939, to parents Martin and Dorthea Suhr who lived on a farm outside of Hooper, Nebraska.At the age of 15, Robert began managing the family farm after the death of his father.He graduated from Hooper High School in 1956.He continued running the family farm until he retired and moved in to Hooper in the early 1970's.After moving to the town of Hooper, he worked for SuperSweet Feeds in Fremont until retiring again in the mid 1980's.Robert enjoyed traveling and having coffee in downtown Hooper with friends.He was an avid reader as well as a faithful member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper.He was also a member of the Eagle's Club F.O.E., Aerie 200.
Robert loved his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews, and many other family and friends.

Robert is survived by:

Sisters; Cathleen (John) Liles, of Solsberry, Indiana; Evelyn (Wayne) Vavra of Lyons, Nebraska; Mary (Jon) Paulson of Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska

Brother Theodore (Diana) Suhr of Lincoln, Nebraska

Many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews as well as other family and friends.

Memorial Service:10:00 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, Nebraska.Pastor Joel Schroeder will be officiating.
