Fremont
Died Sunday January 27, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
Roger Allen Rohlfs was born January 26, 1943 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Dick and Evelyn (Horns) Rohlfs. He grew up on a farm near Syracuse, Nebraska and graduated from Syracuse High School in 1960. He attended Wayne State College and recieved a Bachelor of Arts. Roger received his Masters of Education in 1969 and his Doctorate of Education in 1980, both from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He married Linda Morrissey on August 11, 1963 at Syracuse and they lived at Scribner and Dodge, Malvern, Iowa and Waverly, Nebraska before moving to Fremont in 1975 as Principal of Fremont Senior High School. In 1982 he became Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for the Fremont Public Schools until his retirement in 1997. After his retirement he was an Educational Consultant for several years.
Roger was active in the Fremont Kiwanis Club, Fremont Rotary Club, Fremont Chamber of Commerce, Fremont Community Foundation, Fremont Historical Society, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Izaak Walton League of American, Knights of Columbus and the University of Nebraska Alumni Foundation. He has served on the boards of the Nebraska NCA, Fremont YMCA, and the Fremont United Way. He was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patricks Catholic Church. Rev. Ron Battiato officiating.
The Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Memorials have been established to the Mosaic Home in Beatrice and the Dodge County Humane Society. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
Graveside servcies will be Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Park Hill Cemetery at Syracuse, Nebraska.
