Ronald Allen Hill

Ronald Allen Hill passed away Thursday, July 9th, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. Ron was born October 26, 1936 in Gering, Nebraska to Phillip and Mollie Hill. He graduated from Gering High School then joined the Navy in 1955. He attended basic training in San Diego and taught aviation electronics for two years before being transferred to Kodiak, Alaska where he worked on P2V-5 planes. Ron left the military in 1959 and moved to Denver Colorado to work for Gates Rubber.

Ron married Joyce Brill on October 14, 1961 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They resided in Denver for two years before moving to Gering, Nebraska where he worked for Flammings Service for two years. He then accepted a position with Interstate Glass as an assistant manager and worked there until being promoted to the Fremont manager of the then Harding Glass in 1975. He was transferred to Omaha in 1984 and worked there until retiring in 1993. Since Ron's retirement, he's been active with his yard work, taught Bible class for the youth confirmation students and was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

He loved reading, history and documentaries.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters.

Ron is survived by his wife Joyce, a daughter Stacie Carstensen of Fremont, a son Derek Hill, special friend Karen Kluthe of Wayne, and a grandson Jacob Carstensen of Fremont and favorite cat Annie.

Ron's Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 14th at 11:00 A.M. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Interment will be held at a later date at Bellevue National Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com
