Ronald James Jensen, age 73, of Fremont, passed away at his residence Saturday, November 21, 2015.

Ronald was born May 7, 1942, in West Point, Nebraska, to Bernard and Dorothy Jensen of Wisner, Nebraska.He was confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Wisner, and graduated from Wisner High School, where he played football, in 1959.Ron served in the United States Army and was stationed in France as a helicopter mechanic from 1961-1964.During his time in France he was able to travel to Denmark to visit his grandfather's home town.

Ron married Rachel Pinnt from Norfolk, Nebraska, on August 1, 1965.Ron and Rachel have two children; Michelle and Kurtis.Ron and Rachel celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends in August of this year.

Ron worked for Dinkel Implement in Norfolk and then worked for 20 years for Firestone in Norfolk and Fremont.Ron and Rachel made their home and raised their family in Fremont, where Ron worked for Sid Dillon Oldsmobile, where he retired in 2006, after 18 years of service.Not one to be idle, Ron also served as a custodian for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for over 30 years.
Ron was an active leader for Cub Scout Pack 236, for several years.He enjoyed traveling with his children, fishing and camping, as well as riding motorcycles.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his sister-in-law.

He is survived by his by his wife Rachel of Fremont
Daughters Michelle Jensen and Margo Sims of Sheridan, Wyoming
Son Kurtis Jensen and his partner Al Burns of Shoreview, Minnesota
Brother James Jensen of Bailey, Colorado
Sister Judy (Gayle) Dorau of Fremont
Aunt Helen Caveny of Arlington, Nebraska
Many other brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Memorials have been established for the family.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.There will be a visitation prior to the service beginning at 9:00 AM.
