Rudolph (Rudy) Borck, 94
Rudy went to his heavenly Father's home May 15th, 2013. He was born in Elizabeth, MN on July 21st, 1918, Rudy's Christian faith was a guiding force throughout His life.
He was raised in Fergus Falls, Minnesota and graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1937. He worked for Coast to Coast in Little Falls, Minnesota until 1940 when he moved Anoka, Minnesota and began working for Gambles. He was an inventory control manager for Gambles in Minneapolis before moving to Fremont in 1947. He retired as Gambles office manager at the Fremont Warehouse in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Rose Kazeck (Borck), daughter Shawn Borck, second wife Alberta Franke-Borck, and a granddaughter.
Before his retirement Rudy worked for Gambles for 43 years. He joined Trinity Lutheran Church in 1947 and was a longtime member.
During his lifetime Rudy held many church offices including 33 years as the Aid Association for Lutherans branch president. He was also an active community servant. He volunteered for the Dodge County March of Dimes and up to his death for the Low Income Ministries. Rudy was recognized by the Fremont area Chamber of Commerce with the first "Doing What' Right Award." He also received the "William J. Sommers Humanitarian Award" presented by the American Red Cross for outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the community.
Survivors include daughters Marva (Ron) Tonniges of Littleton, CO; Judy (Don) Berg of Garland, TX; Joy (Jim) Connors of Amarillo, TX; sons Rodney (Linda) of Naperville, IL; Byron (Beth) of Santa Rosa, CA; one sister, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and special friend DeEtta Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00. A memorial has been established to Trinity Lutheran School Tuition Fund, Low Income Ministries, or The Fremont Friendship Center. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
