Sena May Yockey, 93
Died at Nye Legacy Thursday July 11. She was born on August 12, 1919, in Plainview, Nebraska to Stephen and Johanna (Anderson) Hill. She attended school in Bloomfield, Nebraska. Sena married Jerry (LeRoy) Yockey January 27, 1939 in Hartington, Nebraska. They lived in Hartington and West Point prior to moving to Fremont in 1957. Jerry died May 9, 1975.
She was employed by Campbell Soup Company and later did janitorial service for the Fremont Theater. She also did child care for several families and cared for Katie Carlsen as a child and the Katie's children. In return, Katie has looked after her for the past several years as a dear family friend. Sena also cared for the Dier's family and their children who affectionately called her "Grandma Sena".
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Circle.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Enyart of Dacono, Colorado and a son, Frank (Virginia) Yockey of Greeley, Colorado. Grandchildren Donna Ellinwood, Nancy (Dan) Martinez, Tammy (Terry) Purdue and Robert Yockey, 11 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson James Yockey, four brothers and two sisters.
Sena lived a long and wonderful life. We are happy she is now with our Lord, whom she served throughout her lifetime.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 16th at 2:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Rev. Dan Heuer officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00. There has been a memorial established to Trinity Lutheran Church. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery.
