Shirley DeNoyer, age 76, died at Arbor Manor on September 1, 2014, with her family by her side.

Shirley was born March 22, 1938 in Fremont to Alfred and Deloris (Brown) Peterson.She grew up in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High in 1956.She went to work at the former Campbell Soup plant, where she met her future husband, Sam.They were married on November, 10 1956 at the First Lutheran Church in Fremont.After working two years at Campbell Soup, she quit to be a stay-at-home mother and care for her three children.In 1974, she went to work at McDonalds Restaurant.She worked there for approximately 20 years. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church. She was a member of the USBC and was an avid bowler, bowling in two leagues. Dancing on Saturday nights at the Eagles Club, spending weekends at the Wegner Cabin on the Platte River for catfish frys, playing cards, and horseshoes were her most enjoyable activities.She also helped in the planning of her school class reunions. In 1996, Shirley had a single mastectomy due to breast cancer. She remained cancer free.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Gene Peterson, and a sister Kim Bohanan.

She is survived by her husband Sam, her three children; son Greg of Omaha and daughter's Teresa of Fremont, Darla (Rick) Wulf of Arlington.One brother Robert (Veronica) Peterson, two sisters Bonnie Rotert and Annette Phillips.

Family requests memorials directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Visitation will be held Thursday September 4, 2014 at Dugan Funeral Chapel from 6:00- 8:00pm.

Memorial service will be held Friday September 5, 2014 at 1:00pm at Dugan Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Scott
Jensen officiating.
