Shirley C. Elliott, age 85, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2011, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.
Shirley was born in Pittsburgh, Kansas, on November 29, 1925, to Archie and Hazel Davis. She grew up in Independence, Missouri where she attended, and graduated from Chrisman High School. She then moved to Lamoni, Iowa, to attend Graceland College. After college Shirley returned to Independence where she married Eugene Beasley. They had two children, Doug and Marka. She later married Jim Elliott on November 26, 1952, in Independence, Missouri. They moved to Fremont, Nebraska, in 1957, where they remained until the present. After retiring, Shirley and Jim spent their summers on the family farm in Missouri growing tobacco.
Shirley loved to golf. She was a past President of the Fremont Women's Golf Association, the Fremont Women's Golf Champion in 1966, 1970, and 1972, and was a member of Interclub Golf League.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.

Daughter Marka (Tom) Sawyer of Fremont, Nebraska
Sister-in-law Louise Collins of Napa, California
6 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation: 4:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2011, at Dugan Funeral Chapel with family present from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Fremont. Pastor Cody Gallatin will be officiating.
Interment: Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, Nebraska
