Stephen E. Lewis, age 89, passed away at his residence on August 4, 2009.

He was born in Fremont, Nebraska on December 7, 1919 and graduated from Fremont High School in 1937. He married Joan Rechsteiner on June 7, 1937. She passed away in August of 1982.

Stephen worked in the family business, Lewis Oil Company, before serving in the United States Air Force during World War II.

He married Bernice "B" Johnson on November 23, 1985. The following year in 1986 he retired as a loan officer for the Small Business Administration.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and had served on the church finance committee.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Dugan Funeral Chapel.
