Steve Kukoly, age 75 of Fremont, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at A.J. Merrick Manor. He was born August 24, 1932 in Hubbard, Ohio to John and Helen (Rider) Kukoly. He grew up in Los Angeles, California, and attended Reese High School. While in high school he enjoyed swimming and trained with Esther Williams. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War, and was stationed in both Korea and Japan.

He married Bettie Jo Freeman on April 25, 1953, in Yuma, Arizona. They moved to Fremont, Nebraska in 1960. He worked as a truck driver/owner operator for 30 years. After retirement he worked as a bus driver for Fremont Public Schools for 5 years.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister.

Survived by his wife of 55 years Bettie. Two daughters Stephanie (Steve) Styskal, and Vickie (Phil) Bang. Two sons Brett (Belinda) Kukoly, Chett Kukoly and fianc Tresa.

Grandchildren Tricia (Tom) Homan, Cory (Dawn) Styskal, Seth (Sonja) McGinn, Audrey, Erica, and Emmily McGinn, Alex and Katelyn Kukoly, Nick, Kellen, and Ellie Kukoly.
6 Great-Grandchildren.

Family will be receiving friends Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Dugan Funeral Chapel, Chaplain Scott Jensen will be officiating.

Inurnment will be at Memorial Cemetery.
