Susan S. Cobb, age 87, of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Fremont Health.

Susan was born July 27, 1929 to John and Susan (Birley) Sykes in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Morrison High School, in Morrison Illinois. Following high school she went to Western Illinois College where she earned a teaching certificate. Susan married the love of her life Clayton Cobb on June 7, 1952, at the Spring Valley Presbyterian Church in Morrison, Illinois. The service led them to Baltimore, Maryland for several years before moving to Monmouth, Illinois for a short stay, and finally to Fremont where they've resided since. To this marriage were three children Tom, Jill and Steve.

Susan enjoyed sewing, gardening, puzzles of all kinds, golfing, bowling, and most of all she loved her family. She loved being a mom, chasing kids, grandkids, and great grand kids. She will be sorely missed.

Susan was a member of the Presbyterian Church, church circle, and Preceptor Lambda Sorority.

She is preceded in death by her son Tom, parents, brothers Ike, Bob, Kenny, Bill, Dick and sister Lela.

She is survived by her husband Clayton of 64 years, children Jill (David) Arthur of Fremont, Steve (Rhonda) Cobb of Fremont, grandchildren Elizabeth, Billy (Stephanie), Chris (Teija), Garrett, Peyton, Hannah, great grand children Katelyn, Jake, Tommy, sisters Vivian (Milford) Place, Bonnie (Ted) Kuhnen, Donna (Leon) Vankampen, sister-in-law Corliss Kerr and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 at Dugan Funeral Chapel from 4-8PM with family present from 6-8PM.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Presbyterian Church at 10:30AM with Pastor Scott Jensen officiating.

Burial will be held at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, Illinois.
