Terry Lee Thomsen, 64FremontDied at an Omaha hospital Thursday morning, February 16. He was born in Fremont March 8, 1947 and was raised here graduating from Fremont High School in 1965. He attended Midland Lutheran College then entered the Navy in 1967. He served in San Diego and aboard the USS Sutherland in Vietnam. In 1969 he returned to Fremont and married Nancy K. Austin August 1, 1970. He lived in Omaha and Champaigne, Illinois before returning to Fremont in 1975 where he worked for the Fremont Department of Utilities and Central States Co-op.He was Secretary-Treasurer of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 18 and a member of React.He is survived by two daughters, Mary K. Handling (husband Wade) and Karry Thomsen both of Ottumwa, Iowa; two sons Todd Thomsen and Tommy Thomsen both of Ottumwa; three grandsons, Trey Thomsen, Charlie Handling, and Tyler Thomsen and one granddaughter Alex Handling.Memorial Services will be held Tuesday February 21 at 11:30 A.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. The family will be at the funeral chapel from 10:30 until service time. Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. Military honors by the Fremont American Legion and VFW Honor Guard.
