Thomas R. Mooney, 56

Fremont

Died at his home Saturday night.

He was born August 6, 1952 at Superior, Nebraska and moved to Fremont as a child attending Fremont Schools and graduating from Bergan High School in 1970. He graduated from Midland Lutheran College in 1974. Tom married Phylis Ebel December 27, 1974 in Fremont. He has been involved in the insurance industry for 24 years and owned and operated Mooney Insurance Agency with his wife.

He was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, past President of the Bergan Booster Club, and active in the Y's Mens Club and the Nighthawk Baseball Program.

He is survived by his wife Phylis, one son Paul Mooney (wife Nichol) of Fremont; three sisters, Mary Osterloh (husband Tom) of Fremont, Kathy Christensen (husband Tom) of Lincoln, and Marilyn Houfek (husband Steve) of Cedar Bluffs. Two Brothers, James Mooney (wife Su) of Denver and Patrick Mooney (wife Marlyn) of Bennington.

The Rosary will be Tuesday August 19, at 7:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday August 20, 10:30 A.M. at St. Patricks Catholic Church. Rev. Owen Korte and Rev. Matthew Vanderwalle officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. There has been a memorial established to the American Cancer Society.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
