Velva Fern Larson, age 101, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Arbor Manor Nursing Home.
Velva Fern (Williams) Larson was born July 22, 1913, in Diggins, Missouri, to George B. and Cora Belle (Taylor) Williams.She was the youngest of three children.At six months of age the family moved to a homestead near Arthur, Nebraska and later to Superior, Nebraska.Velva attended school in Superior, Missouri Valley, Fremont, and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1931.She married Walter H. Larson in Fremont on May 16, 1934, and they made their home in Uehling.While living in Uehling, she was past president of the American Legion Auxillary and a member of the Congregational Church where she taught church school and was active in the Women's Fellowship.Velva moved to Fremont in 1968 following the death of her husband and worked at the former Campbell Soup Co. for 10 years.
Velva was a member of the First Congregational Church U.C.C. and of it's Womens Fellowship.She also served on the Memorial Committee, dinner committee, and as a deaconess.She volunteered at the Fremont Area Medical Center in the RSVP program and Meals on Wheels.
Velva enjoyed baking, sewing, spending time in her flower garden and especially spending time with her grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Grandchildren: Kristin (Mervin) Olberding of Omaha; Keith (Christine) Claussen of Overland Park, KS; Mark Naber of Monroe, MI; Michael (Kristal) Naber of Cincinnati, OH; Gregg Naber of Scottsdale, AZ.
Great-Grandchildren:Taylor and Connor Olberding of Omaha; Kelly Claussen of Overland Park, KS; Alea Naber of Monroe, MI; Alexander, Nicholas, Christopher, Katherine, and Michael Naber Jr., all of Cincinnati, OH.
Memorials have been established to First Congregational Church, U.C.C. and the 'Friends of the Library'.
Memorial Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Fremont. Reverend A. David Paul will be officiating.
A private inurnment will take place at Elim Swaberg Cemetery near Uehling.
