Verdella "Rosie" Bertelsen, age 83, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010, at Fremont Area Medical Center.

Verdella was born March 23, 1927 in Beemer, Nebraska, to Paul and Anna Liermann. She attended country school near Beemer but left home as a teenager to help support her family. Verdella worked for Greenbergs in Omaha during this time. She met Leonard Bertelsen at a dance and they married in Beemer on August 25, 1950. After marrying, Verdella and Leonard moved to Fremont where she worked for Campbell's Soup until her retirement.

Verdella enjoyed working in her garden, walking, visiting with friends, spent time with her sisters shopping, traveling, going to reunions, and cooking.

She was a member of the Fremont Antique Car Club and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Memorials can be made in her honor to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Visitation: 3-8 PM Monday at Dugan Funeral Chapel with family present from 6-8 PM.

Funeral Services: 10:30 AM Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pastor Dan Heuer is officiating
