Violet M. Lowther, 79, of Fremont died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

She was born March 5, 1930, in Montevido, Minn., and moved to Tekamah with her parents where she was raised and graduated from Tekamah High School. After high school, Violet moved to Fremont where she worked for the Reynolds Insurance Agency and later ran an in-home day care for many years.

Violet Prusia married George Lowther on July 7, 1951, in Fremont. He died May 20, 2005. She was a member of Fremont Berean Bible Church and taught Sunday school for 45 years.

Survivors include: three sons, David Lowther (and wife, Dorothy) of Fremont, Michael Lowther (and wife, Ruth) of Omaha and Rick Lowther (and wife, Pam) of Omaha; a brother, Timothy Prusia of Chino, Calif.; a sister, Alma Arlene Hanneman of San Clemente, Calif.; and three granddaughters.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Fremont Berean Bible Church with the Rev. Steve Watson officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with family present from 6-8 p.m. A memorial has been established to Fremont Berean Bible Church.
