Wanda F. Lambourn, 88 of Fremont passed away Friday August 22, 2014 in Rogers, Arkansas.
Wanda was born in Concord, Nebraska on October 18, 1925 to Vern and Martha Johnson. At a young age the family moved to Fremont where shegraduated Fremont High School. Following graduation, Wanda attended the Immanuel School of Nursing. While at school, she met her husband to be on a blind date arranged by her sister Virgina. Robert was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. They were married in 1945 after dating for 1 month. Following their marriage and after the war ended, they moved to North Dakota. Once Robert completed his college education they moved to Fremont where she resided until her death.
Wanda always had a strong love for her music, she enjoyed being a member of book club, playing and winning at bridge and golf, travels to Sweden, and her Swedish language classes. She was a devoted member of Sinai Lutheran Church, choir member, member of PEO, an American Red Cross volunteer, and a docent of Fremont's May Museum.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, son Robin, and grandson Erik Lambourn.
She is survived by her son Roger (Melissa) Lambourn of Dallas, Texas, daughters Rebecca Lambourn (Stanley Coleman) of Kenai, Alaska, Marti (Kevin) Thiessen of Rogers, Arkansas, sister Virgina (Don) Diers of Grand Island and daughter in law Ann (John) Brooks, grandchildren Ryan Lambourn, Robin Lambourn, Laura Krusen, Mary Krusen, Leslie Krusen, Morgan Lambourn, Dodger Lambourn, Anna Thiessen, Samantha Thiessen, and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Sinai Lutheran Church.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. at Sinai Lutheran Church, Rev. Al Duminy officiating.Visitation will be Tuesday August 26, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Dugan Funeral Chapel with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.
Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery.
