William Flynn, 78

Fremont

Died at his home Tuesday morning after a courageous fight with cancer.

Bill was born November 6, 1930 in Valley, Nebraska to Ed and Irene Flynn and was raised there graduating from Valley High School in 1948. He attended Midland Lutheran College and Wayne State College, where he was inducted into the athletic hall of fame. Bill joined the Navy in 1951. He served in Korea on the USS Symbol Minesweeper and in 1954 returned to Valley. In 1955 he purchased the implement company that became Flynn and Larsen in Fremont. He ran Flynn and Larsen with his brother in law until he retired in 1992.

William Flynn married Aileen (Beanie) Green March 9, 1957 in Valley, Nebraska, she preceded him in death January 18, 2007. He also was prededed in death by his parents and brother Richard.

Bill was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Fremont Golf Club, and was an avid duplicate bridge player. He found purpose in life through his children, grandchildren and business.

He is survived by daughter Patty Dillon (husband Sid) and son Ric Flynn both of Fremont. Sister Shirley Larsen (husband John) of Fremont. Four grandchildren Alex and Billy Flynn and Chase and Dana Dillon. His sister in law Patty Calliham (husband Max) and numerous lifelong friends.

Services will be Saturday September 26 at 10:00 A.M. at the Presbyterian Church. Rev. Scott Jensen officiating. There will be no visitation. A memorial has been established to the Presbyterian Church and for Youth Education at the Bridge Center in Omaha. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.

Interment of Cremains will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn.
